All XP will be awarded on a weekly basis, usually
on a Sunday. Should this change, all members of the chronicle will be notified immediately.
Here are the XP rewards players can expect to receive:
STANDARD: 3XP per scene.
All players who actively participate in a scene will
receive a standard reward of 3XP. However, this only applies if the log of the relevent scene is turned into the MSTs.
N.B. Please note that although it is essentially the
responsibility of the room owner to log all RP sessions within that room, we strongly recommend that more than one player
logs each scene in case of computer glitches etc. (We all know what AOHell is like at times!). We would much rather be sent
the same log from two different players, instead of not receiving it at all because everyone playing assumed that someone
else was logging. The bottom line is: No logs = No XP!!! You have been warned! In fact, to encourage the practice of regular
logging, we will award additional XP to each player who turns in logs after a game (see below for details).
EXCEPTIONAL RP: 3XP per scene.
Any players who are seen to be RPing their characters
exceptionally well or who are seen to be making a concentrated effort to join in or advance a particular storyline etc, will
be awarded an additional 3XP (making a total of 6XP for the scene, i.e. 3XP for taking part and the extra 3XP for exceptional
RP).
We encourage players to contact us to inform us of
anyone that they think should deserve to be given this bonus XP.
LOGS: 2XP per log.
The player who opens a room is essentially responsible
for logging the game. However, in an effort to combat human error and computer glitches etc, we greatly encourage our players
to log scenes for themselves. Therefore, all players who turn in logs to the MSTs will receive this additional 2XP.
So, a player that turns in a log at the end of a game
session will receive 5XP (the standard 3XP for playing, plus the additional 2XP for turning in the log). If that player is
also voted for by others for RPing incredibly well, they will also receive the extra 3XP as detailed above, thus making their
total 8XP for that game session.
N.B. If anyone has any questions regarding logging
(eg. how to go about logging a scene, etc), please do not hesitate to contact either of the MSTs . We will be delighted to
answer any questions or to explain exactly how to go about logging a game.
RECRUITMENT: 10XP per player recruited.
Current Velvet Darkness members who recruit new players
for the chronicle will be awarded 10XP for every new player. Please note, however, that this XP will not be awarded until
the new player has submitted a Character Sheet and has been fully approved for play.
There is no limit to how many times a member of the
chronicle can receive this bonus.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND: 5-20FP/XP.
(Awarded once per character)
Any player who submits a full background for their
character when they turn in a draft Character Sheet for approval will receive a one-off reward of freebie points
that can be used to enhance the character further. The amount received will be determined by how much time and effort has
gone into writing the background, it's length, and also how detailed it is.
For example, a brief paragraph or two stating a character's
most basic details would be awarded the basic 5FP. However, a several page tale spanning decades or centuries of a character's
life history, covering both before and after their Embrace and detailing such things as the character's hopes, dreams, fears,
and secrets etc, would be awarded the maximum 20FP.
However, any players who do not submit a full background
at this stage can still receive these rewards by turning in their background at any time after their Character Sheet has been
approved for play. Although in this case, the awards will be in the form of XP, rather than Freebie Points.
CHARACTER PICTURE: 5FP/XP.
(Awarded once per character)
Any player who submits a picture representation of
their character for this site along when they turn in their draft Character Sheet will receive a one-off reward of 5 Freebie
Points that can be used to enhance their character.
However, at any time after a Character Sheet has been
approved for play, a picture can be submitted for a reward of 5XP instead.
CHARACTER WEB PAGE: 15FP/XP.
(Awarded once per character)
Any player who creates a web page containing their
character's picture, background, and any other relevent details, when they submit their draft Character Sheet for approval
will receive a one-off reward of 15 Freebie Points which can be used to further enhance the character.
However, at any time after a Character Sheet has been
approved, a player may submit a Character Web Page in order to receive 15XP instead.
